Master Thesis Supervision @ TIM
We are looking forward to guiding students interested in the chair's research topics on their way to a completed Master thesis and will be happy to consider thesis supervision applications. Before making your decision to apply we would like to make you aware of some important point:
Your thesis topic will need to
- address a relevant gap in the current research AND
- can feasibly do so within a six month time frame of (the equivalent of) full time work by a master's level candidate.
We reserve the right to decline supervision requests without providing an explanation on individual decisions and will thus not respond to requests for such. We hope that you understand that our decision will be both in your best interest as well as the interest of the chair. Below some of the different factors influencing our decision making:
- Quality of the proposal (question, structure, methodology)
- Feasibility of a successful completion within the set timeframe.
- Relevance to the chair's research topics.
- Resources for supervision at our chair.
On the following pages we provide guidelines on how and when to apply and what to provide with your application.
Before you go on, please consider when applying if you will be able to devote your time to completing the thesis in the set time frame.
